We are excited to announce the addition of 2 fantastic physical therapists to our therapy clinics in Springfield, MO and Ozark, MO.
Meet Marla – Top Physical Therapist in Ozark, MO
Hello! I’m Marla – the newest addition to the Advantage Therapy team of experts.
I am a Nebraska native, but moved to Springfield a few years ago to play basketball and volleyball at Drury University. Following graduation, I decided to pursue a degree in physical therapy and chose Missouri State University Doctor of Physical Therapy. I graduated from MSU in 2017 and discovered Advantage!
My background in athletics, and my own ACL reconstruction in high school led to me a career in PT. Prior to considering PT, I was in a pre-pharmacy program but quickly learned while working in a pharmacy that I wanted more patient interaction and to work in a dynamic clinic setting rather than a cold, white room.
I would consider myself a lifelong-learner so I am thrilled to have the mentorship of Chuck Renner. Chronic pain is one of my therapeutic interests, and I am anxious to learn more manual therapy techniques to bring much-needed relief to people struggling with chronic pain.
Besides chronic pain, I am very interested in treating sports injuries as well as neurological rehabilitation (post-stroke patients, Parkinson’s Disease patients, etc.).
When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me practicing yoga at Sumit Hot Yoga, reading, and going to the movies with my boyfriend Chance. I love being outside and appreciate the variety of weather that Southwest Missouri has to offer. I definitely do not miss Nebraska winters! I am working on convincing Chance to adopt a German Shepard puppy! (We’ll keep you updated on that.)

Meet Brett – Top Physical Therapist in Springfield, MO
Hello! I’m Brett Koehn, the newest PT here at Advantage Therapy.
I’m new to Springfield, and Missouri actually. Originally, I am from Enid, Oklahoma and earned by Exercise and Sport Science degree at the University of Tulsa. While there, I was a member of the Tulsa cross country and track teams. I competed in 5K, 10K, and Steeplechase events (click here if you want to read more about Steeplechase… it’s a long run with obstacles thrown in.)
Being a competitive runner led to a few sports injuries, which introduced me to the role of a physical therapist and the awesome field. I had made friends with Cross Country teammates who were from Australia and New Zealand who helped convince me to go to Australia for graduate school.
I attended the University of Queensland in Australia to earn my masters degree. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I do not have much of an Australia accent. You can take the boy out of Oklahoma, but you can’t take the Oklahoma out of the boy!
One really cool thing about going to school in Australia is learning lots of new manual therapy techniques. In fact, many manual therapy skills originated in Australia. I’m big on hands-on treatment and am thrilled to be part of the Advantage Therapy team of experts!
