Chuck’s Medical Mission Trip – Part 2

February 7th, 2017

We’re happy to post more photos from the Dominican Republic… if you missed out on our first post about the trip, you can find it here.

Surgeries are now underway!

Families have started arriving before 7 a.m.

The operating room is a very busy place. You can see 2 surgeries taking place, side by side.

Chuck’s makeshift therapy area is ready to go. Yes, that’s an electric skillet! He uses the hot water to melt plastic to create custom splints for the kids, as pictured below.

Custom Hand Splints by Chuck Renner, OTR, CHT Springfield, MOIsn’t she beautiful in her pink dress and new custom splints?!?!

Little guy is getting a pep-talk from big sis before heading into surgery.

Adorable little one!

Once this little boy was given a dragon, everything was right in the world.

That’s all we have to share today. Stay tuned for more photos throughout the week.
