Rita F. Williams, COTA
My name is Rita, and I have recently moved back to Springfield, MO from Ocala, FL to join the team at Advantage Therapy. As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) I work with Chuck Renner, OTR, CHT to treat a variety of diagnoses from upper extremity and hand injuries to chronic pain.
You’re probably wondering why I left sunny Florida and chose to move to Missouri! I am thrilled with this change and the opportunity to experience all 4 seasons now! Springfield is my hometown, although it has been 25 years since I have lived here. In fact, I worked with Chuck here in 1992! The challenging setting and the ability to get quick results for our patients is what drew me to Advantage Therapy.
A little bit of background info about me… I obtained my COTA degree from the Community College of the Air Force in northern California in 1991. Over the past two decades, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including hospital, outpatient orthopedic, skilled nursing, and home health. I am excited to be treating upper extremity injuries, joint pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain at Advantage Therapy.
Also, I have a daughter that works as an event planner for the Florida Orchestra and a son who is training to be a chef!
When I am not in the clinic, you can find me “re-discovering” Springfield, MO. You can find me walking my 2 dogs (a Great Pyranese & Poodle/Shih Tzu mix), photographing scenery and nature, and enjoying all that Springfield has to offer… including Springfield-style cashew chicken!
I am so happy to be back around Midwesterners and Missouri sports fans. I look forward to getting to meeting new faces and learning expert manual therapy techniques.
