Kara Heath

Kara Heath, DPT

Hello, my name is Kara Heath, DPT, the newest member of the expert team of physical therapists at Advantage Therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University, near Chicago, IL where I majored in exercise and sport science. Then, I obtained my doctorate in physical therapy from Missouri State University.

As an “Army Brat”, I can definitely say that I have had the opportunity to live across the country. I was born in Hawaii, and have lived in Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Illinois, Kansas, South Korea, and Tennessee, where my family currently lives. I went to high school in Waynesville, MO which is what brought me to southwest Missouri.

Outside of the clinic, you can find me hiking, practicing yoga, and working on my rock climbing skills at Zenith Climbing Center with my boyfriend Caleb. He’s a military flight mechanic! Oh, and I can’t forget about spending time with our Weimaraner pup, Emmett.

As someone who has lived many places, I think the best three things about Springfield MO are:
1. Good food! My favorite restaurant is Civil Kitchen. You’ve gotta try the chicken tenders & fried kale!
2. Outdoors! I am looking forward to venturing to Horseshoe Canyon in Arkansas to climb & hike as the weather gets warmer.
3. The people! I love this community, the people, and my church family at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

My therapeutic interests include outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation including post-surgical PT, sports injury and gait analysis, and chronic pain. In the future, I plan to work toward earning Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification with the American Board of Physical Therapist Specialists. This spring, I will be working toward certification in Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT) and training with Chuck Renner.

I am excited to be working in North Springfield and to have the opportunity to see a wide-range of ages, injuries, and diagnoses achieve fantastic outcomes. If you or someone you know is dealing with nagging pain or injury, please give me a call to set up a free consultation.
